From the first intense and powerful moment, let the force and depth of the whirlwind of Corryvreckan engulf you. Shake the glass and sink your nose into torrents of tar, creosote oil and linseed notes rising from within. As you succumb to its power, a collision of thick dark chocolate, warm black currants and muscovado sugar enchants you with an explosion of cherries and pine needles emerging from its depths. If you add water, you will be able to observe the magical collision between the two liquids. As the liquid heats up, the cauldron sparks and bubbles, and if you stick your nose closer you'll find a cayenne-seasoned steak and oysters seasoned with spicy salta. The savory seasoning brings a briny character of crispy seaweed and smoky bacon that swirl on the surface with the notes of sweet vanilla, spicy cloves and blueberries. As the eddy narrows and the motion accelerates deeper and deeper, surrender to its perilous depths with the heady force of menthol, molasses and chili sauce.

PALATE

Dive into the whirlpool and taste the mysterious depths of Corryvreckan. A torrent of flavors on the palate: deep, spicy and chewy, bombarding the tongue with its intense flavors and textures. The first dip brings a consistent fillet in a pepper sauce with a hint of crispy seaweed. As you descend lower and lower, you find a mouthful of very black, tarry espresso, which coats the palate with a rich blend of dark fruits (black currants, blueberries and cherries) and bitter almonds. As the tasting proceeds even deeper, star anise and walnut dry out the palate before a surprise of effervescent chalky violets breaks to the surface.
